Richmond St.
Heritage Chimney Rebuild - 1921
History
This heritage-designated chimney rebuild is located on Richmond St. in Victoria, BC. The chimney had fallen into disrepair over its 112 year lifespan and the bricks were becoming too decrepit to salvage, unfortunately. Lennox Masonry was commissioned to remove the chimney, pour a new concrete footer, and rebuild it from the ground up, to meet code requirements in the city of Victoria, BC.
Chimney Rebuild
Lennox Masonry obtained the necessary demolition and building permits through Victoria, B.C.’s city hall prior to building an extensive scaffolding system in order to reach the top of the chimney. As soon as the chimney was demolished, a new concrete footer was required to create a stable foundation. Lennox Masonry was also responsible for hiring and coordinating other necessary trades to install a gas insert for the homeowners fireplace and to obtain WETT certification.
The chimney features several aesthetic bands of brick, a concrete crown, and a chimney pot to shield the home's interior from the elements.
When we aren’t designing and building stone walls, landscapes, and custom features, the team at Lennox Masonry of Victoria, B.C. are undertaking chimney repairs and rebuilds. We specialize in restoring, rebuilding, repairing heritage masonry structures.
